A 34-year-old British woman has been stabbed to death at a luxury hotel in Portugal.

Another British national has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The woman was allegedly attacked by the man multiple times at the Alfagar Alto Da Colina hotel in Albufeira on Tuesday night.

Local reports said the woman had been staying at the hotel with her partner and child.

One report claims the attack happened in front of the child.

Emergency services were called to the popular holiday destination at around 6.45pm after reports of a stabbing.
